Finland has announced its participation in France’s proposed forward nuclear deterrence project for European countries. Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated the initiative aims to strengthen European security and prevent escalations without replacing NATO’s nuclear deterrence. The move, confirmed via a joint Elysee Palace statement, is said to align with both countries’ international obligations.
